We hope to make each visit special, please take some time to read our terms and conditions carefully. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff.

Site traffic must not exceed 5mph.

Picnics are not permitted on site.

Dogs are welcome, the exception being that they must remain outside the Cafe and showroom; and kept on a lead.

The café will be open all day, a perfect place to enjoy homemade meals and beverages

There will be displays and workshops on throughout the day, please see our ‘what’s On’ board or speak to a member of the team.

Our current campaign, ‘Save a Life, Surrender Your Knife’ – Knife Angel is available for viewings- although these are not guaranteed, so please speak to a member of staff.

Post the snaps of your visit onto Facebook or Instagram and tag us, and we could be using your pictures on our website. We will always do our best to notify you if your pictures are used.

Visitors requiring disabled parking should notify a site marshal.  A hard standing parking space will be allocated to you. Anyone arriving without making prior arrangements may not be able to access our facilities if they are full to capacity.

Most areas do have uneven ground.  Please be mindful of this and wear appropriate footwear. Visiting the centre is at your own risk, we do not take any responsibility for personal injury or for loss/damage to personal possessions.

Our first aid point is located next to the reception, please notify a member of staff who will escort you there.

Toilets are located around the site, next to our outdoor display area. Disabled toilet facilities are available.

Children must be supervised at all times, climbing or handling the sculptures are not permitted.

Please abide by on-site health and safety messages, for further terms and conditions please visit the website i.e all dogs must be kept on leads- doggie treats and waste bags are located at the showroom entrance.

When exiting the site, we advise that all visitors TURN LEFT.  If you need to access Oswestry please take a left at the Queen’s Head.

During wet weather you are parking at your own risk, for health and safety reasons any towing of vehicles will commence after 5 pm.

As the site is predominantly an Ironworks & Sculpture Park we recommend wearing old clothes when visiting. Appropriate footwear must also be worn due to uneven ground.

All entries are donation only but you do need to become a member first as we are a member’s only site. Membership gives you unlimited visits for 12 months. Thereafter, entry is just a donation. Your membership card will get you discounts off goods and refreshments in our showroom and café.

Membership cards are available from our meet and greet entrance upon arrival.

Concession passes are available, please speak to a member of the team on arrival. These are discretionary and can be reviewed at any time.

Member Discount

Members discount is discretionary, not included on sale items/ Artist Pieces, and is capped at £250 spend. A fixed discount is applied to values over £250. Discounts may vary on the day of your visit.  Member Discount is not included on Chef/Café Specials.

Controlling or restricting entry

In order to control visitors numbers / on high days/ holidays or days of extraordinarily high visitor turnout

We reserve the right to restrict entry at our discretion.

Members will always be preferenced over non members.

On difficult days we reserve the right to entirely where necessary restrict entry to existing or new members only.

On such occasions we can not guarantee entry to non members, unless you have a priority pass booking or you’ve made a reservation for Afternoon tea etc.

Heath and safety and staff welfare generally will always be prioritised over visitor admissions or in extreme cases even new and existing members will be restricted.

On occasions when we receive high volumes of visitors, there is still a large portion of our park which is available to walk around which features plenty of sculptures to view, including our Extinction Trail exhibit.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we reserve the right to alter our admissions protocols to react to the latest guidance and situations.

Other entry restrictions may revolve around uncourteous or impolite behaviour or inappropriate clothing’s or the lack of the same.

Again we reserve the right to restrict or deny entry and use our discretion to evaluate all circumstances as they arise.

Visitors or members who wish to enter with walking aids or guide dog or wish to be accompanied by a carer or guardian are required if needed to offer sight of a Disabilty badge or ID card, if requested.

Concession Entry

Visitors with disabilities may admit one accompanying carer free of charge when they pay for a Concession ticket, however If you are a carer visiting without the person you care for, then you will be eligible for a concession entry. Our team may ask you to supply proof of entitlement when you arrive such as a blue badge, or a Personal Independence Payments letter.

Ticket Sales

We kindly ask that all visitors read the event descriptions carefully to ensure that the event is suitable.

Responsibility cannot be taken for any possessions left unattended anywhere on site including such places as buggy parks.

All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

We reserve the right to cancel any event as deemed necessary by the management.

We cannot accept responsibility for any lost tickets. Please arrive promptly for any specified time slots or appointments as we are not able to reserve places or delay other ticket holders. Late arrivals may be denied access to an event or demonstration at the management’s discretion.

Please be aware that events often sell out in advance, and we cannot guarantee entry on the day. We kindly ask that all visitors read the event descriptions carefully.

Please note that tickets are not available to purchase through our showroom.

We kindly ask that all visitors respect staff members as harassment and aggression will not be tolerated in any form and may result in exclusion from the event or expulsion from the site in extreme cases, with ongoing membership being banned.

Afternoon Tea

Payment in full is required at time of booking to secure the date and time requested. We cannot hold slots without payment.

We do ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for bookings, as each booking is prepared to order.

If you need to cancel your booking, we can offer a full refund provided you inform us of the cancellation more than 48 hours before your allotted booking. The booking is non-refundable for any cancellations made less than 48 hours before your allotted booking, or for any people who do not show to the booking. We are happy to offer food to be taken away with you if a member of your party is unable to attend on the day of booking.

Alternatively, if you need to cancel, we can reschedule your slot to an alternative day and time provided you inform us of the cancellation more than 48 hours before your allotted booking, subject to availability.

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel afternoon tea bookings, we will endeavour to provide notice where we can and can offer rescheduled dates or full refunds (subject to availability and at our discretion).

We do try to cater for all allergen requirements, but we cannot guarantee that our kitchen uses equipment that is contamination free. By completing your booking you confirm that you accept that we cannot guarantee that there are no traces of allergenic ingredients in our kitchen, equipment and food. If you have concerns please discuss with our staff, and you can also find information on food allergens here

Please turn up promptly to your booked timeslot.

Afternoon tea is priced per person, and food cannot be shared across multiple adults. We do not offer a child’s afternoon tea, but children are welcome to share an adult’s afternoon tea, or alternatively they are welcome to order separately off the main menu.

All our afternoon teas, including our special afternoon tea menus, are subject to availability.

Please note that any traditional afternoon tea gift vouchers, can be used towards our special and savoury afternoon teas, but any difference in price will need to be paid in advance of the booking.

As part of your Afternoon Tea experience, we take a group photo of your party which may be used on our social media pages.

Free Coffee Voucher – Collection Orders

Free coffee voucher is applicable to collection orders from our membership newsletter.

Please ask at till regarding your voucher when you collect your order.

Vouchers are limited to one per person per order. If multiple orders are placed, only one voucher will be provided.

Vouchers need to be requested and claimed on the day of collection and cannot be issued retrospectively.

Offer is only valid until 30 September 2022.

Vouchers are subject to availability and are non-transferable.

Golf Buggy Hire:

Golf buggies are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to refuse hire at our discretion.

A full, UK driving license is required to hire and drive a buggy, and must be shown to our concierge staff. A photo will be taken of the license, which will be destroyed upon safe, undamaged, return of the buggy.

Golf buggies must only be driven by the adult who has provided their driving licence. Absolutely no children are permitted to drive the golf buggy, and the Hirer must be over 18 years of age.

The Hirer will adhere to all site speed restrictions and notices at all times.

The Hirer acknowledges that the Vehicle is fit for purpose and is in good condition, and undertakes to return it and any accessories in the same condition, fair wear and tear excepted, to the place and at the time due back as agreed.

A health and safety form will be provided by our concierge staff, which must be filled in and signed before you hire the buggy.

The buggy hire is per 30 minutes.

Please note that buggy hire is taken at your own risk.

You will be charged for any damage to the buggy made whilst under your hire, and this will be at our discretion.

The Hirer must not, at any point, leave the British Ironwork Centre site in any direction and must abide by the site’s speed limits.

Manual Scooter Hire:

Scooters are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to refuse hire at our discretion.

Parental supervision is required for hire of the scooters. We would recommend hire is for older children, ages 8 and up, but this is at the parent/ guardian’s discretion.

The Hirer will adhere to all site restrictions and notices at all times.

The Hirer must wear a helmet at all times.

The Hirer acknowledges that the scooter is fit for purpose and is in good condition, and undertakes to return it and any accessories in the same condition, fair wear and tear excepted, to the place and at the time due back as agreed.

A health and safety form will be provided by our concierge staff, which must be filled in and signed by a parent/ guardian before you hire the scooter.

The scooter hire is per 60 minutes.

Please note that scooter hire is taken at your own risk.

The parent/ guardian will be charged for any damage to the scooter made whilst under your hire, and this will be at our discretion.

The Hirer must not, at any point, leave the British Ironwork Centre site in any direction and they must stick to hard surfaces.

Electric Scooter Hire:

Scooters are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to refuse hire at our discretion.

Electric scooter must only be driven by the adult who has provided their driving licence. Absolutely no children are permitted to drive the electric scooter.

The Hirer will adhere to all site speed restrictions, site restrictions and notices at all times.

The Hirer must wear a helmet at all times.

The Hirer acknowledges that the scooter is fit for purpose and is in good condition, and undertakes to return it and any accessories in the same condition, fair wear and tear excepted, to the place and at the time due back as agreed.

A health and safety form will be provided by our concierge staff, which must be filled in and signed before you hire the scooter.

The scooter hire is per 40 minutes.

Please note that scooter hire is taken at your own risk.

The Hirer must not, at any point, leave the British Ironwork Centre site in any direction and they must stick to hard surfaces.

Mobility Access Whilst On Site

We are a fully accessible site with disabled parking at the main entrance and free entry for carers. The site does have uneven ground in places, however there are routes accessible to wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and individuals with limited mobility. We also have free wheelchair hire, and accessible toilet facilities on site.

Free Loan of Sculpture or Artwork for Educational Purposes:

All sculpture and art, either loaned free or with any associated cost, is accepted with the following conditions attached:

All sculpture/ art should be comprehensively insured to the sufficient value. If you don’t have a value, please do ask in writing.

All sculpture/ art should be signed for and a loan period agreed before taking delivery or collecting.

All sculpture/art should be handled with care. Advice on moving or lifting should be requested beforehand and any damage should be reported back in writing immediately.

All sculpture/ art should be offered adequate security. If you require greater detail regarding the requirements, please request this in writing Any sculpture/ art made from weapons, or addressing a controversial topic, should be given 24hr security.

All sculpture/ art on loan should be made available for collection or return delivery immediately if requested by the British Ironwork Centre.

All sculpture / art loaned is generally done so with an associated link to education or public enlightenment. Therefore a post report detailing the benefits achieved is always required within 4 weeks of the items return.

If there’s a trailer or other display or transportation equipment included within the same loan arrangement then this additional equipment needs the same care and security as the sculpture/ art.

Reciprocal recognition is always appreciated to recognise the community, educational or public benefit achieved.

Any costs or funding associated should be transparent and in writing for us to agree or understand beforehand.

Any publicity, signage or promotional printed materials should include the British Ironwork centre as the partner or provider and should be agreed in writing prior to release.

Art Display Agreement:

British Ironwork Centre may offer to display artworks FREE of charge, therefore there is no acceptance of liability by the British Ironwork Centre for:
Theft, Damage, Deprecation, Maintenance/ care, Copyright issues or Any other circumstances that might incur a cost or dispute for the centre.

If there is a narrative or back story to the art piece, then this should be approved before displaying. Signs are to be limited to one and limited in size to 1m square.

If the artwork is being installed by the owner or the owners’ representatives, then all health and safety precautions must be taken prior to starting.

Workers should agree a period of time for the installation and agree not exceed the time agreed.

The owner will agree a removal date for the exhibit. Once agreed this is fixed and collection should occur in a prompt manner. Should the owner fail to collect, or fail to make the successful arrangements to remove the artworks, a fine of £100.00 per day will be imposed.

Any use of British Ironworks equipment or use of British Ironworks staff must not be taken for granted. Generally, it is accepted that the sole responsibility is of the art owner to pay and organise their own installation and departure teams and equipment.

Any damage made to the British Ironwork Centre grounds whilst installing or departing, is the sole responsibility of the art owner and damages will be billed should damage occur.

This includes (but is not limited to): Equipment loaned, Fencing, Road or Kerb surfaces and Planting or lawns

The Owner is fully responsible for any art Insurance required for the artworks whilst here on display.

If the artworks have any potentially harmful or risk elements related to its materials, style, shape etc, then the installation should always include parameter fencing as well as warning signage should there be any risk of people or children being drawn to climb or handle the artwork.

It is the Owner’s responsibility to ensure that the artwork is installed safely, and this includes (but not limited to) structural safety, sharp edges, and risk of falling or falling objects. The Owner must thoroughly check the sculpture over for structural safety and integrity.

If the British Ironwork Centre has contributed any financial element to aid the artist, in installing or departing, this should be entirely refunded before the Artworks leaves the centre should there have been any negative incidents from hosting the artworks or damage caused.

The British Ironwork Centre reserves the right to photograph and/or video the artworks for their own use, including publicity, and there will be no infringement of copyright or objection from the Owner. Media is entirely with the British Ironwork Centre discretion.

Santa’s Enchanted Forest  

Child ticket – £9.50

Each Child ticket includes a Café Golden ticket, Popcorn, Special Present, Grotto experience and digital photograph.
There will be Mulled wine and a warm Mince Pie for adult ticket holders on arrival

The Centre will open at 9am during Grotto days, we request that all slots after 9.30am arrive a minimum of 1 hour prior to your Grotto booking and visit the Café to redeem your Golden Ticket prior to the experience. Please note the last Slot of the day will not have the opportunity to redeem within the café following their experience, only prior due to centre closing times.

When booking please book the correct tickets for your party
Each experience last 45 minutes, however, will last longer if you are visiting the Café to redeem your Golden Ticket

Child rates apply to children aged 0-18 years. All children will receive a digital photograph and gift from Father Christmas

Adult rate applies for persons aged 18 and over however, if you wish to receive a present from Father Christmas you must purchase a child’s ticket.

Children 16 years or under must be accompanied and supervised by a person of 17 years or over.

Tickets can be purchased online only via our website. We are regrettably unable to take bookings over the telephone.

All bookings are classed as private bookings (one boking per time slot)

Tickets are valid only for the selected date and time only.

We recommend arriving in a minimum of 1hour prior to your booking and arriving at the Café to redeem your Golden Ticket prior to the grotto experience

Late arrivals to timed events may be refused entry due to room capacity.

Blacksmith Experience

Prior to booking your experience, please familiarise yourself with our Terms and Conditions

By taking part in one of our experiences, you give up the right to take legal action against the British Ironwork Centre/Black Country Metalworks Ltd, should you suffer any personal injury at the time of the experience. By signing our waiver form you agree that you are responsible for your own health and safety when taking part and operating in the working forge including when using forge equipment.

All experiences include all the necessary materials for you to learn and create a bespoke blacksmithing item. Items that are made during your session can be taken home at no extra cost, providing that it is within the price bracket chosen. Any additional items or bespoke items can be made at an agreed extra cost and must be completed within the experiences’ time frame. Please note that our blacksmithing experiences do not cover the use of welding equipment.

PPE will be provided but it is your responsibility to wear suitable clothing on the day, this includes wearing sturdy shoes or boots and clothing that fully covers your body. No fleeces, please.  We will provide all the necessary equipment and tools for your blacksmithing experience, including gloves, goggles, aprons and face shield, however it is your responsibility to wear these throughout your session.

As you will be working in a genuine forge, it is your responsibility to bring with you and ensure you drink plenty of water throughout the day to remain hydrated in the hot environment.  Water will not be provided, so please bring enough to last your entire timed session.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in our blacksmithing experiences.

As the forge is a potentially dangerous and hazardous working environment, unsuitable behaviour may result in the removal from the experience and from the premises.

If you have any medical conditions or take any medication, our blacksmith experiences may not be appropriate for you. We do not recommend taking part in any blacksmithing activities until medical advice is sought from your doctors to approve your participation.

Terms & Conditions For Items Purchased Online, In Store & By Phone 
1. In these terms and conditions of sale the expression “The Company” or “Company” means British Ironwork Centre Ltd. And the “Purchaser” means the company, firm or persons to whom the goods are supplied by the Company under this contract.

  1. No description of goods by the company in any leaflet, catalogue or other written matter shall constitute a contract of sale of goods by description for the purposes of the Sale of Goods Act 1893 and the Sale of Goods Act 1979.

3.

  1. Product variations. Due to the handmade nature of goods, items may differ to the images shown on the website and/or on other printed material. The customer understands that different monitors, screens and printers can render colours differently and that these variations are not a fault of the product itself. The customer accepts the potential of this arising. We recommend arranging a viewing of the item by contacting us before purchasing, should potential variations cause issues for you.
  2. Due to the nature of acrylic glass and Perspex items, there may be visible scratches or superficial marks on the surface. The customer accepts that this may occur. To remove these marks, we recommend the use of Perspex cleaner and a cloth.
  3. Any reference to weights and dimensions or performances contained in any catalogue, leaflet or other written matter by the company are approximate only and shall not constitute an implied term of this contract.
  4. Incorrect pricing and listing information. Our sale of goods agreement is not formed until the goods are dispatched successfully to the customer. Up until dispatch, if an item is under-priced or mispriced as a genuine mistake, the Company reserves the right to cancel an order or offer you the item at the correct price. At this point, you have the option of proceeding at the correct price or cancelling the order.

6.

  1. Customers are reminded to satisfy themselves that the goods they are purchasing are suitable before completing an order. No responsibility is placed upon the company for making an incorrect order.
  2. For some of our items, we do offer bespoke finishes or modifications. Once a customer has instructed us to prepare, repaint, or modify an item in any way, they are obliged to take it once it has been completed. Once work has begun for custom or modified items, we cannot accept cancellations or exchanges, especially once the item is completed and ready for delivery. If you do wish to cancel your custom or modified order, any costs associated with said modifications will need to be recovered through the customer’s deposit or initial payment before any refunds can be issued. If the item has already been delivered, checked, and signed for, the customer is also responsible for returning it back to us safely at their own cost. Refunds will be discussed and organised on a case-by-case basis.
  3. Deposits taken against orders – All deposits are taken in good faith. Should our circumstances change, then part or full refunds are offered. At no time do we accept requests for compensation or interest, regardless of the deposit value.

7.

  1. The Company shall not be responsible for any consequence of non-delivery or late delivery of goods due to any causes (such as weather, fire, strike, miss-communications, government control or shortages of (materials/labour) and no such non-delivery or late delivery shall entitle the purchaser to rescind this contract. Please note this list is not exhaustive and only includes some of the most common consequences of non-delivery or late delivery. The company accepts no liability or responsibility for loss of earnings or any charges that may be incurred due to non-delivery or late delivery. Delivery dates are always subject to change and therefore we strongly advise that no arrangements are made until you have received the goods and are fully satisfied. The company urges patience from its customers regarding all deliveries, especially during annual and bank holidays and also during the company’s annual stocktaking period, as this may cause an extended delay to our stated delivery times or the agreed delivery time provided by external companies.
  2. Delivery of large and cumbersome items may occasionally be ‘vehicle side only’ and may require unloading directly by the customer. In such cases where there is a failed delivery or where delivery is proven to be obstructed by the customer, the company reserves the right to cancel the order minus any costs incurred.
  3. Ireland, Scotland and offshore isles may also incur an additional delivery surcharge. This will be related to the size, weight and type of product that is being shipped. In these instances, we suggest you do the following: Place the order in the normal way. We will then contact you with the additional charge (if any) and apply this to your order. You will then be able to either accept or cancel your order based on these charges.
  4. International shipping: We do not currently offer an international delivery service, however, customers living overseas can arrange for their own courier collection or provide a UK based freight forwarder address.  For consignments travelling to overseas destinations, we recommend the goods are inspected and repacked in accordance with the local import legislation at destination before shipping on.  Please note, you will need to cover any local charges that may be needed for local duties, customs or clearance charges. Once the parcel has been collected by the courier of your choice or delivered to the freight forwarder address, we, Black Country Metal Works are no longer responsible for the parcel.
  5. Due to the automatic nature of the carriage calculation system, we reserve the right to contact the customer and alter the carriage cost if the cost is higher than the carriage charged.

8.

  1. The Company will not accept any claim relating to the condition or quantity of goods delivered unless formal written notice of any such claim is received by the Company within 48 hours of the delivery date with the exception of items over the value of £100 (see below for more information on orders over £100). Communication must be made by email to: info@britishironworkcentre.co.uk.
  2. For large items, we recommend inspecting the goods prior to accepting and signing for them from the courier.
  3. For goods over the value of £100 we require email notification of any damages within 24 hours of signing for the goods to info@britishironworkcentre.co.uk to be eligible for a claim, please include photos of the packaging, any damage, and your order number.
  4. It is the customer’s responsibility to thoroughly check delivered goods before any installation is undertaken. Should you become dissatisfied with a product after it has been installed or used, we cannot be held responsible for any costs associated with deinstallation and it becomes the customer’s responsibility to organise the safe return of said item. If you become dissatisfied about an installed product, you must contact the British Ironwork Centre immediately to discuss your concerns before sending any items back to the company. Once approved and agreed upon by the company, the return of your item will follow the same procedure as stated throughout this section.

Before installation or use of an item, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they are happy with the item. If you are not entirely satisfied with your item, you must notify us immediately. You must not rework or correct the product without our explicit agreement in writing. If rework is undertaken without written agreement, we cannot be held responsible for any issues and the item can no longer be returned to us.

  1. Regardless of whether an item has been delivered damaged, is faulty or incorrect, for all returns, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure it is safely and suitably wrapped for courier collection and must also be made available in the same location as the courier delivered it, or at the kerbside of the property. For palleted items, please ensure that you retain all packaging. Should you wish to return an item, it will need to be repackaged as best you can use the pallet supplied. In the event that packaging isn’t retained, you will be incurred the respective cost as quoted to us by the courier. This cost will be reduced from the refundable value of your item. Collections must be available within courier working hours, typically 7 am -7 pm.

For larger or palleted items (such as gazebos or large sculptures), it is the customer’s responsibility to cover any expenses associated with returning the item back to us if a complaint arises outside of the 24-hour grace period allotted from time of delivery. If any issues arise after the 24-hour grace period, as stated within this policy, you must notify us of this as soon as possible. We will then advise whether the item needs to be returned to us in order to rectify the issue. In some cases, we will send out materials or parts to rectify the issue (e.g. touch-up paint, etc). If a return is required, you must arrange and cover all financial implications to return the item in full without any harm or loss of parts. Thereafter, we will evaluate if any rework is necessary or if a refund in full or part can be actioned.

  1. All courier deliveries are kerbside, and arrangements must be made by the customer to move the consignment after delivery, including disposal of any packaging, including pallets, etc.

  1. The Company will not in any circumstances accept liability for any consequential loss of profits/earnings or third-party claims or detention or delay or expenses of any kind howsoever caused. This includes any agreements made through external delivery companies, including any miscommunications on delivery or dispatch times. We make NO GUARANTEES on delivery times, these are all estimated.
  2. The next day delivery service applies on orders placed before 3pm. The next day delivery service is available in most mainland areas but is subject to stock and courier availability and demand. When the next day courier service is not available, we will deliver by an alternative carrier and this may take longer. It is not applicable to any item not specified as such on our website. Delivery times cannot be guaranteed. Next day delivery is not available in the following area/postcode combinations (subject to change and not exhaustive):

  1. Whilst any money remains outstanding by the Purchaser to the Company, title to all goods (under any contract) shall remain vested in this company. This Company may recover any goods upon demand and shall resell at our own discretion. The Purchaser shall hold such goods as trustee for this company and any resale of the goods by the purchaser shall not involve the passing of title from this company unless and until the goods have been paid for in full.
  2. Whilst we try to source our products from UK workshops and businesses as much as we can, our products do come from multiple origins. This includes both finished and part-finished pieces made or supplied by both local and overseas artists and works.  All orders do assist in sustaining our UK metalworks and are greatly appreciated. Our Visitor Centre showcases the best in decorative metalwork from all over the world including two working Blacksmith forges, CNC workshop and Paint shop. Blacksmith and Silversmithing experiences are also held at the Centre.
  3. All prices shall be subject to increase in the event of increases in wages or raw materials occasioned by government act or regulation and any other relevant increase occurring before completion of any order. All offers and discounts are for orders over £10. We reserve the right to remove certain products from offers without notice. Order direct telephone discounts are up to a maximum value of £250 discount and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers. All discounts are given at the company’s discretion.
  4. All samples are to be paid for by the purchaser unless agreed prior to despatch, if trading commences on the same items, a credit can be issued.
  5. These conditions of sale shall apply to every order passed with the company and no substitution or condition in the Purchaser’s order form or condition of trade or the like which would or might negatively derogate from, conflict with or qualify any of these conditions of sale shall apply to such order unless expressly accepted by the company in writing. Whilst we always go over and beyond to fully satisfy our customers, we cannot offer or participate in compensation claims.
  6. An interest charge of 25% will be levied against outstanding invoices or part invoices remaining unpaid.
  7. We are not responsible for any costs or damages associated with a product’s use, misuse or incorrect installation, whether the product is faulty or otherwise.
  8. British Ironwork Centre is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury in any form associated with the purchase and/or supply of goods, including goods not being as expected.
  9. Any Purchaser (Client) instructing us to despatch goods direct to their customer has to be the Purchaser’s (Client’s) risk.
  10. Any delivery note signed in an unclear fashion or undated by the Purchaser (recipient) has to be taken as correct, the Purchaser has a responsibility to sign for material in full, full signature/full printed name and dated.
  11. A restocking charge of 50% will be levied if goods are returned without prior agreement with British Ironwork Centre Ltd.
  12. Acceptance of an order takes place when the order has been dispatched from The Company.
  13. When an order has been placed and accepted, the Purchaser must ensure that someone is available at the given delivery time and address to accept the goods and sign the delivery note. Failure to do this will result in the goods being returned to the Purchaser’s local delivery depot, whereby, a card will be posted through the Purchaser’s door. The Purchaser must follow the directions regarding a subsequent attempt at delivery or may choose to collect from the said depot. If the Purchaser chooses not to respond to these directions, or contact the said depot, the parcel will be returned to British Ironwork Centre and the Purchaser will then need to arrange collection at their own cost from British Ironwork Centre. We advise that no arrangements are made with tradesmen or contractors until the Purchaser has received the goods, they are in their possession, and they are fully satisfied.
  14. We recommend all items are checked thoroughly upon arrival to ensure everything is accurate and present. This must be done before shipping on to a further destination. Additional packing materials may be required. We cannot take responsibility for items which may have been lost in transit.
  15. We reserve the right to adjust and amend designs and raw materials without prior warning.
  16. We are not responsible for damages caused by customer elected couriers.
  17. We do not recommend proceeding with installation preparation until items have arrived safely and you are completely satisfied.

GUARANTEE

27.

  1. Any GUARANTEE mentioned on the site only applies to products where this is stated. If a product is found to be defective within the timeframe offered (from the date of the order), we will replace that part and deliver it to the customer. The Guarantee ONLY applies to the metal components of the product (not the finish) and only for products ordered after 1 January 2009 when the guarantee came into effect. Products order before this date are not covered by the guarantee and the standard 1-year warranty applies. This does not affect your statuary rights.
  2. The Lamp Post 10 Year Guarantee refers to the structural integrity of the post itself, excluding lanterns. It does not include the paintwork and cosmetic finish. As with all metal outdoor items, regular maintenance such as painting should be completed regularly to help preserve the post in line with our recommendations. 10 Year Guarantees only apply to full price lamp posts and do not cover discounted or trade/commercial orders. The guarantee does not cover flood, storm or earthquake damage or damage incurred through incorrect installation or accidental damage.

IMAGE & CONTENT COPYRIGHT
28. Due to significant investment made in photography each year, the right to use any image which belongs to “The Company” is only granted whilst your account is active and may be revoked at “The Company’s” discretion. If your account becomes inactive for a period of over 90 days or overdue the use of any imagery, which is the property and copyright of “The Company”, will be automatically revoked and such images must be removed immediately, regardless of any related inventory you may hold. Use of imagery includes the website, print or any other medium. We recommend, for peace of mind, that the images are deleted from your computer system and any printed literature removed from distribution. All content/copy and product information under any circumstances remain the property of “The Company”.

  1. We reserve the right to refuse and close accounts at our discretion.
  2. Bespoke, made to order and custom products, whereby the product has been manufactured or ordered to the customer’s specification are non-refundable and non-returnable. We reserve the right to use other works, artists, and sculptors for both parts and finished work. Prototypes are chargeable unless otherwise agreed and must be returned after inspection and approval. Due to differences in production procedure or practicality, finished products may not be identical copies of prototypes or technical drawings. Mass production quantities can vary within a margin, both moderately above and below. We reserve the right to adjust where and when required.

WEBSITE DISCOUNT CODES
31. The company reserves every right to not deliver orders where the discount code has been misused on products it was not originally intended for, we will contact the customer regarding this and request that the outstanding balance is paid before the goods are released for delivery. If a product is already on special offer, other discounts cannot be applied on top of this.

SOCIAL MEDIA DISCOUNT
32. Social media discounts are applicable to the first £250 of any purchase and can only be used once per day, the discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts or offers (ie. free delivery, special prices, other discount codes, etc.), and orders cannot be combined.

All customer trade returns must be returned to us at the cost of the trade customer for evaluation by The British Ironwork Centre and, on evaluation, a credit note will be raised accordingly. No credit will be issued against carriage or transportation costs unless the fault is found to be on the part of The British Ironwork Centre. Export orders are exempt from this. All goods returned for credit must be received in a perfect and resaleable condition, as supplied and not altered or used in any way.

PRIVATE CUSTOMERS
Private Customers shall be debited the full amount for goods and delivery at the time of order or within 24 working hours.

STAND INSTALLATION
We recommend you obtain professional advice when installing stands – also note all stands should be securely screwed to the floor.

We do not recommend proceeding with installation preparation until items have arrived safely and you are completely satisfied.

1-YEAR GUARANTEE
Our 1-year guarantee only applies to selected products it is stated on. For this to apply it is imperative that our care and maintenance advice is followed fully.

DELIVERY

Please note, our third-party couriers DPD, have advised that their drivers are operating to a tight schedule and therefore will only attempt delivery once. This initial delivery timeframe will be provided via text message or email from DPD through their tracking service. In the event that you are not home, the courier, DPD, will take the parcel to a local drop off point, on average a 5-mile radius from the original delivery point. You, the consignee will be notified via text message to say the parcel has been taken the local drop off point as no one was home. With this, a second text message will be sent to say the parcel has arrived at the designated drop off point and location details will be shared. At this time, it is up to you, the consignee, to collect the parcel within 7 days. After 7 days, the parcel will be returned to Black Country Metal Works whereby a maximum of 25% restocking fee may be charged and fees will apply for resending. We accept no responsibility for DPD courier services.

For all other courier services and providers, in the event that you are not available to take delivery, your item(s) may be left with a neighbour or on your property unless you have specifically told us you do not want your item(s) to be left in this way.

You agree that proof of delivery will constitute one of the following:

A recipient signature if the item is delivered to your address
A recipient signature if the item is delivered to a neighbouring address
A photograph showing the item left on your property
A drop card stating the item has been left with a neighbour or on your property

FREE DELIVERY

Free delivery is only applicable to certain specified lines and ranges, on orders being sent to mainland UK addresses. We reserve the right to change and update these terms and conditions from time to time and recommend that you revisit this page regularly to keep informed of the current terms and conditions.

FREE NEXT DAY & NEXT DAY DELIVERY

We will make every effort to ensure that your item is dispatched and delivered next day. This will happen 99.9% of the time. Occasionally due to circumstances outside of our control i.e. raw material supplies, labour, courier breakdown, etc. The next day delivery may not occur. We cannot take responsibility where this has not been achieved but will make every effort to ensure your item reaches you as quickly as possible. This service only applies to non-bespoke items requiring no specialist work and for delivery addresses within mainland UK excluding Ireland, Northern Ireland, Highlands, and Islands. Orders must be received before 3pm. We recommend waiting until your item has arrived before arranging tradespersons. Orders that are placed after 3pm on a Friday will be dispatched the next working weekday. Orders that are placed on a weekend will not qualify for free next day delivery. Please note: British Ironwork Centre do not operate on bank holidays and seasonal holidays.

Products with a Made to Order lead times will be dispatched on a timely delivery service as soon as the product is ready. All Made to Order lead times both on the website and those received verbally are approximates only. Lead times can and do often vary, especially with larger or more complex pieces. We recommend choosing those items readily available should you be working to a deadline.

Lighting products may require a lead time to produce and will be sent on a fast delivery service as soon as the product is ready.

CHRISTMAS DELIVERY & EXTENDED RETURNS

We will endeavour to dispatch all goods ordered before our annual Christmas shut down (23rd December 2023 to 4 January 2024). For made/prepared to order items, please allow an extended 2-week lead time due to the works Christmas shutdown. All orders received after the 23rd of December will be processed after the 4th January 2024, including those with Free Next Day Delivery.

For all regular orders placed after Monday 18th December, it is difficult to guarantee pre-Christmas delivery. We do rely on national couriers to deliver to our customers and this process is normally completed within 48 hours of dispatch. Please note that couriers can experience slight delays due to the large influx of deliveries at this time of year.

We may rely on local works to supply or create certain items and this can, at times, cause unexpected delays which are outside of our control. Any potential delay will be advertised with an approximate lead time on our website. Failing this, our customer service team will be in touch at the earliest opportunity to advise any delays or alternatives that are immediately available.

All items ordered from the 1 December 2023 to the 10 January 2024, will be eligible for our extended returns policy of 28 days. Any items purchased outside of this date bracket, which are wished to be returned, will come under our standard returns policy of 14 days

RETURNS

If you have changed your mind about the product you have received and wish to return it, you have 14 days for a full refund of the product cost. To return your item, follow these easy steps:

Return to us using the courier service of your choice, ensuring the order number is clearly visible on the packaging. Make sure to ask for and retain your receipt as proof of return, BCMW cannot be held responsible for any items that may be damaged or go missing in transit.

Returns may take a little while to be processed from the date they return at our goods in. As soon as it has been processed you will receive an email to confirm.

Your refund will be provided approx. 10 working days after this return has been processed.

If you return your item without contacting us beforehand, you may incur a £20.00 administration fee to cover the extra work involved in processing your return.

Depending on the size and nature of your item, you may incur a 25% restocking fee which will be deducted from the purchase price of the item before being refunded back to you. At their descrection, BCMW shall make reimbursement of the whole or part of the purchase price.

If avoidable damage occurs to return items through poor packaging, lack of packaging or if a product has been used, then BCMW has the right to reduce the refundable value amount. This will depend on circumstances, the damaged occurred and if the item can be repaired.

BLACK FRIDAY

The ‘Black Friday Extended Returns’ promotion is only valid for items purchased between the 26th of November and the 6th of December 2021. The extended returns period ends on the 15th of January. Any items purchased outside of that bracket will not be eligible for return under our Cancellation & Returns Policy. All returns made through the ‘Black Friday Extended Returns’ promotion still adhere to our Cancellation & Returns Policy. This can be viewed in full here.

Any additional Black Friday discount codes (i.e. through social media promotion) can only be used once per transaction. Only one discount code can be used at a time and all codes cannot be used in conjunction with any other codes, whether online or via telephone order. We reserve the right to withdrawal any discount codes at any time.

Due to the additional discounts added to our ‘Black Friday Mega Bundles’, we can only accept full returns of the bundles, and will not be able to accept part returns. Any damages or issues must be reported within 48hrs, as stated in our Cancellation & Refund Policy. In order to rectify any issues, we will follow our Cancellation & Refund Policy as we normally would with any other damaged or incorrectly received item (i.e. a full exchange, part-exchange, or full refund). ‘Black Friday Mega Bundles’ are available while stocks last.

‘Black Friday Sale’ offer price guarantee. If you purchase an item at our early ‘Black Friday Sale’ price and the price drops again over our Black Friday promotional week (26th November – 3rd December 2021), we will happily refund you the difference. This guarantee only applies to items already purchased at a sale price and refunds will only be issued to customers who notify us of a price drop during the Black Friday promotional week. If you notify us of a price drop after the 3rd December 2021, we reserve the right to no longer accept or issue any price guarantee refunds.

PRICE MATCH

Product listings, as featured on the website as part of the clearance shop, are subject to change according to availability and stock levels. This also includes the price of the item. Once purchased, collection from the British Ironwork Centre is preferred over delivery to check you are entirely happy with the product and its quality. However, delivery can be organised at an additional P&P charge. For collected items, it is the customer’s responsibility to check goods before leaving the premises as no refund or exchange will be authorised thereafter.
