KIDS CLUB

Kid's club is a member only activity-based organisation founded by the British Ironwork Centre and is devoted towards encouraging children to access and enjoy the centre's grounds and facilities.

The belief is that strong community engagement has a positive part to play in both developing the centre and in creating a wonderful healthy following in the community.

Kid's club will be running a calendar of activities throughout 2018 onwards and will embrace children of all genders, abilities, nationalities and ages.

Members will get first awareness of children's events and activities, with an email notification to an email address provided by a parent or guardian. Events and activities will always involve parents or guardians being invited too

Eco Safari

For a fun day out, come and ride the eco safari! Catch a ride in the Centres Safari buggy.

Upon entering the Centre grounds, you will be crossing the threshold into the territory of some of the most fearsome animals on the planet, from the moment you enter you will take a winding route discovering pastures of deer, fighting bulls, grazing horses and colourful gorillas. Be sure to have your camera at the ready to catch a glimpse of the giant tarantula. We also have a fabulous new addition! Bumble Bee the Transformer!

Our animals love being photographed and are the best behaved, with no risk of losing your window wipers! They are a vain bunch who love to pose for the family photo album and if that wasn’t enough, they love children visiting them!

The 2018 Peace Marathon

With the Oswestry first half marathon set to be a huge success, we are kicking it off early by accepting ‘Register Interest Applications’ from runners for the 2018 Gorilla Run. Tug of War

On the 24th September, we will see the return of the iconic Clash of the Titans Tug of War event, hosted by the British Ironwork Centre. A gruelling trial of strength and endurance, our annual Tug of War challenge returns this year bringing together teams from across the county all competing for a chance of eternal glory. The event will see more teams than ever before with the first pull taking place at 12 pm.

As each year passed and a new winner was celebrated, the competition became fiercer and the banter even more brutal! Last year for the first time since its inception, this battle of brawn saw the induction of three incredible ladies teams. The Rea Valley Farmers emerged victorious after a final showdown with the rope traditionally set alight for the final pull, they claimed the trophy for 1016, but the question is what will September bring? Could you be the next triumphant titan?
