Whats On

Here at the British Ironworks Centre, we don't believe in "sitting on your laurels", life is for living and enjoying and we certainly do a lot of that here. We would like to share our philosophy with you, our customers, by inviting you along for a visit to see a little bit of what we get up to on a daily basis.

We also pride ourselves on our events program, hosting numerous family fun days, business mornings, displays and charity occasions to be enjoyed by all. With so much going on you can be sure friends and family of all ages will be well entertained.

Eco Safari

For a fun day out, come and ride the eco safari!

Cross the threshold into the territory of some of the most fearsome animals on the planet, from the moment you enter the Centre, you will take a winding route discovering pastures of deer, fighting bulls, grazing horses, and colourful gorilla's. Be sure to have your camera at the ready, to catch a glimpse of the giant tarantula.
Our animals love being photographed and are the best behaved, with no risk of losing your window wipers! They are a vain bunch who love to pose for the family photo album, and if that wasn’t enough, they love children visiting them!

Amazingly, the Centre is- Free Entry – Free Parking – Free Ice Cream for Kids!

Knitter Natter - 5th April

Thinking about getting into knitting? Join us for an hour at 11am on Wednesday 5th April for our Knitter Natter!
Carol Booth, the area's local knitting champion, will be taking the lead, she'll be teaching our group an array of knitting skills. Don't forget your wool and knitting needles!

Calling all egg-splorers!

The Easter bunny has visited the Centre, but has unfortunately dropped all of his precious cargo!!!

Hundreds of yummy, scrummy Easter Eggs are now strewn about the Safari and your help is needed fast to gather the clues!!

You will need to make hast through the vast grounds in hunt of the missing eggs, your journey will take you around the centre and grounds, exploring hidden treasures and rabbit holes along the way to ensure you unlock all of the clues.

Special prizes and certificate awarded by the Head Explorer in the showroom, each activity sheet is £3.

The Oswestry Half Marathon & Family Fun Day - 30th April

Shropshire's newest and the UK's most unique running event is coming to Oswestry on April 30th 2017. The course begins and ends at the British Ironworks Sculpture Park where you will be treated to an experience like no other. 

The 90-acre ground lends itself to all sorts of events, with free parking, an on-site coffee shop, and the most amazing collection of metal work, you will have plenty to keep you occupied both pre and post race.

Midlands Breakfast Club - 7th May

The Midlands Breakfast Club is a wonderful gathering of car enthusiasts from all over. Join us for a breakfast sandwich and a browse of the many exciting and unique vehicles on display. Everybody is welcome to join and you are invited to bring your own set of wheels. Entry is free.

Weaver Wander 2017 Car Rally - 27th May 2017

Weaver WanderThe Weaver Wander is a charity car run each Spring for classic cars departing from Nantwich on routes that are normally around a total of 100 to 120 miles. In recent years, they have visited Erddig, Chirk Castle & Shugborough Hall & this year they have chosen to visit the British Ironwork Centre. The event is planned to take place on 27th May 2017. All of the cars will arrive at the centre around midday. During their visit they will also host their own awards for 'Best Car' & 'Best Club Presentation' which be judged and presented at the centre. Come along to view this incredible collection of cars.

Proms In The Park - 10th June 2017

A fabulous summers evening spectacular, come and enjoy a glass of prosecco with strawberries served on beautifully landscaped lawns, whilst being enchanted by the one and only Wrexham Symphony Orchestra. To start the evening off with a bang, there will be preshow performances from our special guests, Clwyd Clippers and Lilly Whitehurst, who really will create a magical atmosphere. The Orchestra will then take centre stage, playing a wonderful array of classical favourites and films from the shows, followed by a firework finale.

You are encouraged to bring a picnic hamper full of your favourite things along with a blanket to sit on and enjoy the spectacle.

Your tickets and event programme can be collected from the Centre at a time convenient to you, you can also collect on the evening of the event.

Penny Farthing Race Spectacular - 18th June

Join us on the 18th June for our spectacular Penny Farthing race. The day will consist of 6 races, the half mile course will be held on hard ground. All participants will receive a free t shirt and a delicious free lunch. 
This unique and wonderful event will be great fun for all ages. 
Free onsite camping is available for all of our international participants.

The Annual Transport Rally - 15th July 2017

Last year’s transport rally was a roaring success, we had over 500 vehicles in attendance and a huge crowd as well. We would like to personally thank each and every one of our participants and spectators for their attendance on the day. We have now opened applications for this year's Transport Rally.  Please fill in the web form provided or download a form which can be sent to us via post.

The Macmillan Winter Wonderland Ball - 2nd December 2017

Join us for a magical evening set in our enchanting winter wonderland. 
The evening will begin with a welcome drink, a sensational four course dinner, both live & silent auctions, live music and an evening disco. Tickets are £50 each or £500 for a table of ten.
