Here at the British Ironworks Centre, we don't believe in "resting on your laurels", life is for the living and we certainly do a lot of that here!

We would like to share our philosophy with you, our wonderful customers, and invite you to join in on the fun by visiting us to see what we get up to. We pride ourselves on our events programme, hosting numerous action-packed, family fun days, business mornings, entertainment and fabulous charity occasions to be enjoyed by all.

Live Music Every Weekend From 11:00 am To 15:00 pm

Live MusicThis year we will be hosting some of Shropshire's finest talent, with local musicians debuting here at the Centre. Come and enjoy FREE live music every weekend.

Kid's club is for members only. Founded by the British Ironwork centre the activity-based event hopes to encourage children to access and enjoy all the centre's grounds and facilities has to offer.

We believe that strong community engagement has a positive part to play in both developing the centre and in creating a wonderful healthy following in the community.

Starting in 2018, Kid's club will be running a calendar of activities and aims to involve children of all genders, abilities, nationalities and ages.

Members will get first awareness of children's events and activities, with an email notification to an email address provided by a parent or guardian. Events and activities will always involve parents or guardians being invited too.

Eco Safari

For a fun day out, come and ride the eco safari! Catch a ride in the Centres Safari buggy.

Upon entering the Centre grounds, you will be crossing the threshold into the territory of some of the most fearsome animals on the planet, from the moment you enter you will take a winding route discovering pastures of deer, fighting bulls, grazing horses and colourful gorillas. Be sure to have your camera at the ready to catch a glimpse of the giant tarantula. We also have a fabulous new addition! Bumble Bee the Transformer!

Our animals love being photographed and are the best behaved, with no risk of losing your window wipers! They are a vain bunch who love to pose for the family photo album and if that wasn’t enough, they love children visiting them!

Metal Safari Quiz

Take part in our kids metal safari quiz here at the British Ironwork Centre, collect your quiz sheet from our showroom to take part! Only £1 per child.

 All winners get a certificate!

Midland's Breakfast Club 2019

The Midland's breakfast club is a wonderful event starting at 9:00 am, drivers from all over the Midlands will arrive in dramatic style at the British Ironwork centre. This is a free entry event and everyone is welcome to join, but don’t forget your camera!

Wigglers Children's Activities

Wigglers offer children's craft activities and workshops.

Their activities allow children to enjoy making something as an individual or in a group, you can watch your child get creative, learn something new, and most importantly have a treasured memory to take away with them. Crafts activities are suitable for all ages and all budgets.

Crafts & Cookies

10am - 11:30am: Wigglers have a craft workshop for little ones, every Thursday throughout term time. £6.00 PAY AS YOU GO. Includes wonderful crafts with Jackie, coffee and cookies – for those mummies and daddies that want to meet other parents, and have a little bit of ‘me time’ whilst the little ones get creative! Located in The Forge Cafe.

The Fluffy Snow Donkey

Are you on Santa’s nice list this year, because Elsa the snow donkey is visiting the Ironworks this November to collect your special letters for Santa

As part of your visit, you’ll be given your personalised Christmas letter, you'll make a magical Santa Key with Wigglers for you to leave out on Christmas Eve. You’ll then have a special Christmas picture with Elsa the snow donkey, and whilst you drink hot chocolate you’ll create a bag of magical reindeer food.

The snow donkey is visiting from 16th November until Christmas Eve, and it’s the perfect way to start the festive period with every letter being displayed in the grotto for all the children visiting to see.

Christmas Wreath Making Workshops

Come a enjoy a relaxing, inspirational morning in a magical Christmas setting within the British Ironworks showroom. Learn a new skill and create a beautiful traditional Christmas wreath to make sure your door is the best dressed in town.

We will provide all the materials you will need including seasonal foliage a selection of berries, fruit, cones and feathers to suit your choice.

Local based floristry teacher Georgina Wright will host this relaxing 2 hour fun workshop where you will be shown step by step how to make your own unique wreath.

****COST £35 per person****

The price included all materials , festive refreshments and your wreath to take home.

Length of workshops will be 10am -12.30pm.

Santa's Grotto


Who’s going to be on Santa’s nice list this year? Yes, it’s that time of year again, goodbye Summer, we cannot wait for log fires and comfy slippers!

Tickets are now available online for our Christmas Wonderland! Meet Santa and his team of elves!

The visit includes traveling through wonderland, meeting Santa, having a special picture, picking a present from the workshop and having a special treat in the Café!

Tickets never last long, so book now to avoid disappointment, we also have an early bird offer on November visits. Those on the naughty list need not apply.

The British Ironwork Centre is proud to announce that we will be hosting a fantastic evening to raise funds in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The Greatest Show Ball will truly be a night to remember.

Tickets are £55 each which includes a drink upon arrival, a four-course dinner, a live band and an after party disco. Tables of 10 can be booked for £500.

Christmas Winter Fair

A winter extravaganza featuring stalls filled with fresh produce, unique crafts & handmade gifts, all brought to you by local producers & crafters from across the Shropshire & North Wales Region.
If you’re in search of the perfect Christmas gifts this festive season or you’re just looking to treat yourself whilst supporting local & independent businesses, then you won’t want to miss out on the Ironworks’ Winter Fair.

Producers, crafters & artisans will include (but are not limited to):
• Petton Preserves – honey & preserves sourced from a historic Victorian walled garden.
• Shropshire Salumi – handmade salumi using outdoor reared Gloucester Old Spot pigs.
• Garfeild Davies – an Oswestry-based woodturner.
• Weird & Wonderful Cheeses – family-run business specialising in unusual flavoured cheeses.
• Penant Valley – suppliers of seasonal game including venison, rabbit & pheasant.
• Indian Street Food – authentic & traditional North Indian street food.
• Niki Guy – glassware maker using recycled glass sourced from seashores and riverbanks.
• Shire Gin – Ellesmere-based gin makers using ethically sourced botanicals.
Also present will be La Triestina, Butterbelle, Goats Milk Creams, Elegance Skin, Number Eight & a range of other stalls.

As part of our Community Support Programme, all featured producers & crafters will be exhibiting here free-of-charge through our efforts to provide a platform for independent, local businesses.

Plant Hunter's Fair 2020

We are very pleased to be hosting the fabulous Plant Hunters Fair for the 3rd year running. Highly acclaimed, specialist nurseries with thousands of unique plants and flowers, will be joining us to showcase the fruits of their labor. Entry is £1.00 per person, in aid of the Plant Hunters selected charity.

Proms In The Park 2020

A spectacular evening like no other filled with excellent music from the Wrexham Symphony Orchestra, great food, fireworks and a whole heap of fun for every member of the family!

Beautifully set within 100 acres of parkland right here at the Ironworks, the annual Proms in the Park event is certainly one of the most fabulous music events in the Borderlands. A whole family evening featuring top-class music from radio, TV, films and history, this event promises something special for every single attendee. Whether you’re a lover of classical music or a bit of a film fanatic, Proms in the Park 2020 has been specifically designed to be enjoyed by you all!

We welcome you to bring a delicious picnic, cosy blankets, and comfy seating. We also allow personal gazebos, but these must be set up at the rear of the crowd to ensure that everyone can get a great view of the stage! As part of the evening, delicious treats will be served including a very British strawberries and cream sundae. The Forge Café will also be open all evening for those that fancy hot drinks or something sweet to really heighten their Proms experience.

All proceeds collected on the night are in aid of a selected charity, underpinning the Ironworks’ charitable support.

Transport Rally

With last year’s transport rally being a roaring success, we are excited to host the event again for 2020. We had over 500 vehicles in attendance last year, and a huge crowd of enthralled spectators, all of whom made it a fantastic day..

So this year, we are putting the pedal to the metal, and are busy organising lots of exciting things, including live music, the famous midday cavalcade, and exciting activities for the children!

Halloween Children's Spooktacular

Bring your monsters along to experience our Halloween Spooktacular event! With a full moon on the 30th October, only enter if you dare. 

We have plenty of spooky activities for all the family.

There are FREE Photo opportunities all day with a professional photographer, please notify a member of staff if you do not wish to have your photo taken.

Please note; there will be scare actors around the site, so if you are scared easily, or have health issues please join in at your own risk.


This event is not for the faint-hearted! There are scare actors who will remain in character. They are supposed to be scary!

Fancy dress is encouraged for both children and adults, we want to see your best fancy dress creations as there are some special prizes to be won!
