Your School Trip
We hope you enjoy your visit to the British Ironwork Centre!
To enable us to make sure everything runs smoothly while you’re here, we ask that you consider the below points:
You can find more information on disabled access and toilet facilities on the website. Toilets are located within the main building near the café.
When you arrive at the Centre, please come to the main welcome desk where we will greet you.
During your visit, there will be a photographer on site. Please update a member of staff prior to and during your visit if there are children who should be excluded from pictures.
As part of your lesson planning for the day, we can offer a range of outdoor activities for you to take part in. These include:
You can also plan many activities such as sketching artwork, photography, reading and learning about our recycled projects as you walk round. Please don’t forget your pencils!
Many of our projects can be found on our website which will help you to plan your day and enable you to talk about our work prior to bringing your students.
You will see collection areas around our site for our current projects. If you would like to encourage the children to start collecting donations such as glasses, keys, buttons, crisp packets etc. they can bring them along on the day to donate.
As part of your visit, we can provide refreshments such as juice and biscuits. Please let us know if you would like this in advance of your visit. Alternatively, many schools bring snacks which can be eaten around site.
On dry days we have plenty of space to picnic on grass areas or at the picnic tables. If it is wet or rainy on the day of visiting, it is advisable to have lunch on your coach. We have a small area under cover, but we have no allocated area for schools.
Each child will receive a free entry pass to give to their family as part of our ‘Supporting family Learning’ scheme.
To book a visit we require:
As part of our continued support for free educational trips, we ask for a positive review following your visit. This is very important to us and to the continued work we do with local schools and communities.
We hope you have a fabulous time!
