The ENSA Memorial: Remembering Our Wartime Entertainers

The British Ironworks Centre has been approached by Entertainments National Service Association Memorial Appeal (ENSA) to create an extraordinary memorial!

ENSA Donations Sign

ENSA Memorial Appeal was set up in 2022 to raise the necessary funds to commission a memorial at the National Arboretum in Staffordshire to honour ENSA’s members and the valuable role they played in boosting morale during World War II.

The vision we have conceived is spectacular; we want to create something huge! We are proposing an interactive stage setting featuring instruments, fabrics, clothing, and other pieces used by famous entertainers. We want to create something on which visitors can stand, take selfies, and admire the view of a performer!

This piece relies heavily on the generosity of celebrities, entertainers, and collectors. To help us to achieve our goal, we need as many artefacts as possible! This is going to be the first of its kind; nothing else exists in this country to remind us of the entertainers who (quite possibly) helped us win the war, so this is a wonderful project to get involved with!

If you have anything to donate, please contact us on info@britishironworkcentre.co.uk.
