Severn Hospice Fundraising Sculpture

Inspired by a call for help over the adverse effects that endless charities and causes are facing during the global pandemic, the idea for this sculpture was created. Hospices, especially, are very vulnerable during the pandemic due to the number of elderly people being cared for within their facilities. Of course, this puts enormous pressure on annual budgets so, when we heard announcements in the media about our local hospice suffering, we wanted to step up and reach out a helping hand.

Finished in Severn Hospice branding colours and designed to accommodate thousands of metal butterflies, we were hopeful that this sculpture might assist their cause and be operational very quickly. The concept, as with many of our other similar designs, was to offer the public the opportunity to purchase a butterfly in the name of a lost loved one or an NHS hero. Initially, the idea was welcomed but unfortunately pressing urgent issues were competing for our focus. Therefore, this has now been shelved for the time being. Subsequently, a number of days later the government launched a support package of millions for such charities, to aid and support them through the crisis.
