Royal Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) Sculpture

2Following previous support given to RJAH, we were asked by the Head of Fundraising and by the head of the hospital’s League of Friends if it would be possible for us to support them again. Previously, we have supported the hospital through the creation of a spectacular sculpture titled ‘Percy the Peacock’, which was designed to honour the life of a peacock who took residence on the RJAH hospital grounds. ‘Percy the Peacock’ is presently situated at the entrance to the facility for all visitors to see on arrival.

This additional project – currently titled ‘Poorly Giraffes Need Love Too” – has been designed to help bring colour, humour, and positive distraction to patients and visitors from their illnesses or anxieties when arriving or waiting at the hospital. There are numerous areas within the hospital that need a pop of colour and a bit of interest adding, which is why the design features two colourful giraffes. This is a project that, due to hospital staff changing, is in abeyance for now but, in the future, we hope to work alongside the hospital and the Oswestry community to potentially bring the piece to life.
