Old CCTV Cameras Wanted!

We want all your old CCTV cameras, from doorbells to infrared and spy cameras for our next project!

We exist in a day and age where we are constantly being watched, recorded and it is just accepted as the norm. Undoubtedly there are benefits of this; from deterring crimes and harassment, supporting police investigations and allowing members of the public to feel safer as they go about their day-to-day lives. However, with even smarter technology on the rise, including facial and gait recognition, the boundaries between safety and government control are blurring.

In 2023, it was estimated that over one billion surveillance cameras were installed globally, and we are expecting this to double over the next 18 months. In some cities, there is already an equal number of surveillance cameras as its population! With acceleration rates such as these, who is going to raise the alarm?

Repressive totalitarian nations use internet censoring and surveillance as an act of control, monitoring the public’s every move, taking away their privacy and fundamental rights. It is important that we find the balance, allow freedom of speech and reject oppression.

Let’s open the lens and create a transparent conversation over why and where this is all going?
