Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service

The British Ironwork Centre was recently approached by Cheshire fire and rescue service, in discussions around introducing an impactful sculpture outside their headquarters, in Winsford, Cheshire.

The team over at Cheshire fire and rescue service work tirelessly to keep Cheshire safe from fires and other emergencies. In their work, they are mindful of the environment and utilising scrap, which is why they were drawn to us, as we shout our environmental efforts from the rooftop.

Being a firefighter requires bravery and integrity, to put your life on the line for others. According to recent UK government statistics, during 2023-2024, there were 2,408 firefighter personnel injured on duty in England, with 35 classified as having “major injuries”.

The sculpture we envision depicts one of our brave firefighters, climbing a ladder into dangerous flames in a bid to help. Our sculpture will be made entirely from scrap and recycled metal, with the possibility of it doubling as a fountain out of the fire hose.

We’re thrilled to assist our fantastic emergency services wherever we can, and look forward to the ongoing collaboration.
