National Monument Against Deforestation & Habitat Loss

We were shocked and appalled to see images in the media of lone orangutans clinging for dear life onto the last tree standing in a rainforest devastated by deforestation. As felled trees lay around them, the orangutan looked to us humans with hope for safety, unaware that humans were the cause of the problem. We recreated this scene, with this orangutan created from recycled metal acting a tribute to those who have lost their habitats. With his white flag held high, he is asking us humans to accept his surrender and let all animals live free, in safety and in peace.
