Manchester’s GMP Community Bee Trail

Presented to the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the Manchester Mayor’s office, this trail features a number of large metal bees adorned with GMP’s insignia and has been designed to form a part of Manchester’s bid to reduce violence within their city and the surrounding area. Specifically designed to get schools and the wider community involved in order to raise better awareness over knife crime and all forms of violence, the trail will be tailored to suit a range of age groups, offering a number of different educational trail activities. The idea is for those participating in the trail to follow a downloadable map/clues to find each numbered bee, which will be fitted to lamp posts dotted across the city, and discover more about Manchester’s anti-violence stance. This project is still very much in its early stages and is currently being reviewed by the GMP and the Mayor’s office.

As facilitated by us, the GMP are currently running a “Forever Amnesty” throughout their city. This amnesty features a number of weapon banks distributed across Manchester, providing a safe and judgment-free place for carriers to deposit their knives, all in an effort to help clear the city’s streets of knife crime and violence.
