National Anti-Violence ‘Manchester Bee’ Touring Monument

– The Bee of Peace –

As the first UK sculpture to be made entirely of firearms, this Bee Monument is a dedicated monument for the UK’s second largest city, Greater Manchester, to become a catalyst for an area-specific anti-violence programme. You can see the current tour schedule for the Bee below.

Tour Schedule

In collaboration with the Greater Manchester Police (GMP), we have created an anti-violence monument to highlight the city’s stance against all forms of violence.

Our need to suppress violence is a continual effort that requires a continual focus. The piece that we created for Manchester will be their first and only anti-violence monument created from recovered weapons, so it will be entirely unique.

If you would like to know more about which towns/cities are hosting the Manchester Bee, see our Manchester Bee hosting schedule below.

Manchester Bee Hosting Schedule

Only National Monument Made From Firearms Β  Β  Only Educational Tool That Carries No Cost Or Expenses For Police Forces To Use Β  Β  Created Solely From Firearms And Blades From Manchester's Streets

Β  Β  Only National Educational Monument On Wheels Β  Β  Only National Monument To Travel Directly Into Schools And Colleges

“It’s made entirely of weapons from Manchester exclusively. It’s taken two years and now it’s a huge relief it is being used and out on its Manchester tour. There’s never been a national monument made of firearms before.”

Clive Knowles, Chairman of the British Ironworks Centre

β€œHaving the Anti-violence Bee tour our region [was] a real honour, and its sheer presence [provide] the ideal opportunity for us to get [our] message out into our communities.

Superintendent Edward Hancox, West Mercia Police Crime Prevention Lead

β€œTo prevent knife and gun crime, we need to start at the earliest opportunity. The statue is a sight to behold acting as a powerful visual tool which opens up conversations, particularly with children and young people, about the dangers of carrying weapons and how they can keep both themselves and their family safe.”

John Campion, Police and Crime Commissioner
