Sheep dog trials 2016

Sunday 21^st August saw the Ironworks second annual sheep dog trials. Over 80 contestants took part, guiding their dogs on a bizarre course at the centre.

The handler and dog duo’s had quite a task, herding the flock of sheep through the most unusual gates and around quite out of the ordinary obstacles in the form of Gorillas, Giraffe’s and Elephant sculptures. The aim was to herd the flock of sheep around the course and into the ornate gazebo at the finish.

The trials went on throughout the day and brought in a big crowd of spectators and animal lovers. We had extra falconry displays on the day and live music from local musician Chris Greve.

We had a really fantastic day, all of the dogs and handlers performed impeccable skill and we want to say a huge congratulations to the winners on the day Kevin Dodd with Bill and Caroline Visser with Jess.
Plus the Young handler winners which went to 
Chloe Von Dinther and Logan Williams.
