Christmas Jumper Day 2018

Staff at The British Ironwork Centre take their silliness very seriously for Christmas Jumper Day!

Friday December 14th has seen staffat The British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry put on their warmest, wackiest and most wonderful festive woollies to raise money for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

Festive silliness swept the nation as millions of people in schools, offices and homes up and down the country donate £2 to sport a festive sweater for the day. Staff arrived in work this Friday morning sporting a rainbow of festive knits to fully embrace that jolly spirit.

From technicolour festive knits festooned with reindeer antlers to balancing baubles, the best bit is that all this silliness has a serious purpose.

All money raised through this wacky woolly-wearing could help give a child living in a refugee camp clothes to keep them warm through winter, help buy nutritious food for their entire family, or set up a safe space to give children the chance to be children again. It’s a very silly way to solve some very serious problems!

Sarah McManus said: “Christmas Jumper day is now becoming an annual tradition here. With us as a centre wanting to support charitable causes whenever we can, we wanted to support the nation’s effort in raising valuable funds for such a good cause and it’s a lot of fun too.”
