Altrincham College Support SYST Oswestry Hub Through Equipment Donations

 Hearing of the launch of Shropshire Youth Support Trust, Altrincham College near Manchester decided they wanted to help.

Through social media they became aware that the charity was opening a new Hub in Oswestry, Shropshire and with their metal working and craft departments closing, they decided that rather than selling the equipment, including benches, vices and anvils, they wanted them to be put to good use at the Hub.

Today saw a vehicle collect all their equipment and, over the next few weeks, it will be offered to start-up businesses to use within the British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry.

 

 Gina Awlymm, Head of Engineering and Craft said: “When we heard of the SYST initiative we were excited to call and offer all our craft tools, it’s really satisfying that SYST will use these to help fledgling businesses take off.”

Clive Knowles, Trustee and Chairman for the Shropshire Youth Hub in Oswestry, said: “It’s so important for everyone to get involved and pool our resources to help these youngsters start their own businesses, it’s so much easier if others offer help too.”
