Charity Awards Centre For National Support Over Knife Crime

The British Ironwork Centre this week received a recognition award from SAMM, the charity that offers ‘Support after Murder and Manslaughter’ which signifies the charity recognising the centres efforts in supporting national police forces and the home office in reducing knife crime throughout the UK.

The charity used their annual AGM and conference to recognise people and organisations including The British Ironworks with an award of appreciation for successfully activating constabulary amnesties throughout the UK and achieving the collection of over 100,000 weapons

Chairperson Rose Dixon said “we have been especially moved by the efforts of the British Ironworks in engaging with this national blight.

If it wasn’t for the British Ironworks, there would still be 100,000 knifes and improvised weapons on the streets of the UK.”

She went on to say,

“There actions in enabling amnesties nationally by providing completely free knife banks and amnesty bins is quite outstanding and we should all be immensely proud of them.

Rose who has been with the charity for 17 years explained,

“We represent individuals and families effected by violet crime, with escalating statistics all over the country in both knife crime and specifically hate crime, generally we need more individuals and companies of this calibre to step forward and help reverse this tragic trend.

We felt their immense effort of supplying so many knife banks and amnesty bins free of any cost deserved special recognition.”
