    This is what the wind does to us! Trees aren't the issue here but it’s the sculptures that have suffered this week in the high winds. We have been battered by the wind, but our wind defences are going back up and we are planning on planting more trees to protect us next time.Turning a negative into a positive and helping the environment at the same time.

  2. Buisness Students come to Ironworks for help

    Business students from North Shropshire College visited us recently to see if we could help them with their latest project. Charles, Marco and Jack are organising a Make-A-Wish event based around retail called “The Oswestry Christmas Retail Experience”. The event is for the chamber of commerce to help promote business in Oswestry.   3. Wet weather science

    We don’t let the bad weather get us down, and neither do you it seems! Last week we still managed to sign up 613 members to the Ironworks and visitor numbers are increasing. A little wind and rain never hurt anyone….apart from a few of our taller sculptures!

  4. West Midlands Weapons Transfer

    The Ironworks take receipt of weapons from across the whole of the West Midlands! DC David Webb and Michael Hall, Cannabis and Knife disposal manager at Holyhead road police station, were the police escorts which followed our vehicle to ensure safe passage to Oswestry. Thousands of weapons were collected and brought here, to the Ironworks so that our sculptor, Alfie Bradley, can continue the creation of the 'National Monument against Violence and Aggression...The 'Knife Angel...

    WOW! Ian Humphreys Photography has taken these incredible photos of our sculptures! We love how the coloured light hits our horse sculpture and illuminates it in a way we have not seen before!!!   6. West midlands weapons transfer

    Today is to be a momentous day for us!! We have the ‘official’ West Midlands weapons transfer taking place. Weapons from all over the West Midlands are being brought to Oswestry under heavy police escort. West Midlands Police have been collecting weapons off the streets and storing them in high security weapons stores. They are being brought over to be included in the creation of the ‘National Monument against Violence and Aggression which is being created ...

  7. Tony Bacon in the Forge

    Tony Bacon was given a 2 hour taster session in our forge for his birthday on the 31st October. He came in recently to be guided by Paul our blacksmith in the basic skills of the blacksmith trade. Tony really enjoyed his experience and got a certificate to prove it.     We had a wonderful time at the Shropshire Star spotlight awards the other night. It really was an honour to be there and congratulations tooLudlow Food Centre who won the category we sponsored, 'best food and drink champion'.   10. knifecrimes

    The British Ironwork Centre hosted Ann Oakes Odger MBE to symbolically engrave and weld a blade to the national monument against violence and aggression. Ann did this symbolic gesture on behalf of her son, who was fatally murdered. Ann has worked courageously since and even had sentencing upgraded and redefined for knife crime and runs the organisation KnifeCrimes.Org She is going to help us with the progression of our project and we will support her fight against knife crime and violence.
