The WI (National Federation of Women's Institutes) Huff and district group came to visit us yesterday. The ladies braved the weather to get here and really enjoyed their day. Ken, our tour guide, showed them around the centre's indoor areas where they were given a blacksmith demonstration and a sneak peek at our 'knife angel' project. We saw Santa's Grotto opened by the Mayor, Cllr Peter Cherrington. It was a great honour for us to include the mayor in welcoming Mr and Mrs Claus to the Ironworks. Mr Cherrington even got a special gift from Santa himself! Mr and Mrs Claus really enjoyed their first weekend in the Grotto and can't wait to meet even more children next weekend.

We revealed this incredible 'Christmas Cake' at last night's launch. Created by the incredibly talented Loopy Cakes of Oswestry, the cake has been made in honor of Mr and Mrs Claus arriving at the Ironworks tomorrow, we really hope they like it.

Declaring Whittington castle's latest visit to the ironworks is Sarah and Nick Thursfield! They paid us a visit this week to discuss their newest project, which they need the help of a blacksmith.... that's where we come in. Watch this space to see how the project develops.

What a fantastic night! The mulled wine was flowing and the Christmas songs were playing. Thank you so much to everyone who came last night to our Christmas Launch, we hope you felt pampered and Christmassy. We are hoping this will be the first of many members only evenings, to give our members the VIP treatment.

We have had incredible support from London Metropolitan Police on our 'save a life' campaign. They have shown a tremendous effort to remove knives and all dangerous weapons off the streets. We would have certainly struggled without their sheer determination and perseverance. Alfie went to collect the knives and weapons from their headquarters in Central London and these photos show the volume of knives collected. All off the streets of London.

As an extra special treat for our members who attend our Christmas launch tomorrow evening, we are organising goody bags to be given out. Included in these goody bags will be a free day pass to the areas most luxurious health club, Coach House Oswestry. For one day only our members can enjoy full use of their Gym, Swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and Sauna. Phil Parry, Leisure manager, came to drop off the passes this morning. We can't wait to pay them a visit ourselves.

We welcomed the newest addition to our purchasing team, baby Annabelle. Pictured here with mum Sam and Dad Bruce, she was introduced to everyone here at the Ironworks. As you can imagine, work stopped as we all got introduced to this little lady. It was lovely to meet her, and what a cutie.
