Lauren Sheppard popped in today asking for our help. She is searching for local businesses who can donate prizes to their raffle at their Christmas fair Friday 18th at Oswestry Methodist church for the preschool there. The past few years the preschool have struggled with getting prizes together but Lauren has persevered and pulled through already bagging some great vouchers which include nail treatments and a free service for your vehicle. We decided to give Lauren this love...

Overwhelmed with how much the public are being so supportive of out project. Knifes are coming in daily from people wanting to donate to our cause, but we need to reach 100,000 knives collected. Gareth Thomas popped in today to donate a selection of knives he had never managed to dispose of safely before. Don’t use the dustbin, they still end up on the streets

Here at the Ironworks our support for good causes has no end, especially for Y Care International as this charity is quiet close to our hearts. Every young person deserves a second chance and Y Care have collaborated with World YMCA in raising awareness and raising funds for young people in Africa. We are fully supporting this charity and you can find out more at our information point in reception. You can also donate and pledge your support for the charity here too.

On the 2nd December, Yvonne mosquito, Deputy West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner visited the project and to see the creation of the National Monument against Violence and Aggression (Knife Angel). The BBC were filming to see the incredible contribution from West Midlands Police. We speak to the families affected by knife violence and how supporting the project gives them a focus during such a difficult time.

Fantastic news from Sussex Police who have this week arranged for the collection of weapons for the Monument against violence and aggression project. We are so glad they are helping us with our quest to remove 100,000 blades off the streets of the UK.

Joe Bickerton, destination manager visited the Ironworks to learn more about what we do and what our message is to the tourism community. David Higman MBE joined Clive in showing Joe around the centre and discussing how Wrexham and Oswestry can collaborate.
