    Our Gorillas are going to Welshpool winter festival this year. The Gorillas have been invited by Welshpool town council and are to be a part of a Christmas animal safari. Free Admission to the event on Saturday 5th December! You'll find our Gorillas in Puzzle Square. The Gorillas are excited, they don't get to go to Welshpool too often!

  2. St Andrews school, Nescliffe

    St Andrews School in Nescliffe came to visit us this week. A whopping 60 children came to the Ironworks to enjoy a tour of our centre. They got to see our Blacksmith do a demonstration and FREE ICE CREAM! Thanks to Birch Travel LTD for getting them here safely.

  3. Educational Development Services

    Educational Development services visited the Ironworks this week. The group were greeted by Kenny who gave them a tour around the centre. The group even got to speak to our Sculptor, Alfie, who showed them the 'Knife Angel' and the reasons behind its creation. The students were really impressed with the sculpture and Alfie certainly made an impression on them.

  4. St Giles school, Shrewsbury, Headteacher retires

    This week we delivered the Cast iron stag to St Giles School in Shrewsbury. You may remember it is a leaving gift to head teacher Jane Crouch who is retiring after many years serving the school. The Stag will sit pride of place in a special garden which is being created for the school. Jane was there this week to receive the sculpture arrive at its new home.

  6. Ingress game

    We have been chosen to be part of the virtual gaming appIngress. The game play consists of capturing "portals" at places of cultural significance, such as public art, landmarks, monuments, etc., and linking them to create virtual triangular "control fields" over geographical areas. We have several 'portals' here which include our elephant and gorilla. This is definitely a first for us and will hopefully develop in people visiting us for a completely new reason.   7. Ironworks produce menu for Heritage centre

    Carol Roberts of the Coffee Shop at Heritage Centre is very pleased with her new menus which we designed and created for her. She worked together with our graphic designer, Jo, to create a new menu which is bright and clear. She came to collect them today with her two little ladies, one of which even featured on the front cover of the menu. It's been great that we could help carol create a new menu to entice her customers to the coffee shop, the food sounds delicious!

  8. Williamsons of Shrewsbury bring coach tour to ironworks

    Williamsons of Shrewsbury - Day Trips & Coach Hirebrought their coach trip here today for a look around the Ironworks. Everyone on the trip had a fantastic time seeing our Blacksmith, Paul, at work and got a sneak peak at how our knife angel, the national monument against violence and aggression is coming along.   9. RAF Cosford food festival

    Abi and Michelle from RAF Cosford came to visit us yesterday to brainstorm ideas for next years Cosford Food Festival. We are hoping to support them in getting ready for next year. We will be creating a special challenge for visitors to the festival to make this year more dramatic than ever before. It was lovely to meet the girls yesterday and we are excited on what's in store. We are thrilled to be involved with such a high power, influential organisation to the community of Shropshire.

  10. Trefonen school

    Julia Shambrook and Mark Davies from Friends of Trefonen C of E School came to us recently. They are raising money to create a sensory garden for the children at the school. They are holding a Christmas Fayre this year and all proceeds will go to help create this much needed space for the children. They have already worked so hard in raising funds for the school so we donated this clock to be part of their raffle.
