Today is to be a momentous day for us!! We have the ‘official’ West Midlands weapons transfer taking place. Weapons from all over the West Midlands are being brought to Oswestry under heavy police escort.
West Midlands Police have been collecting weapons off the streets and storing them in high security weapons stores. They are being brought over to be included in the creation of the ‘National Monument against Violence and Aggression which is being created here, at the Ironworks. This has taken over 12 months to organise and it’s been under mountains of red tape.
This comes at a crucial part of the process, as sculptor, Alfie Bradley, is needing more weapons on top of the 30,000 which have already been used so far. We are hoping the day goes without a hitch and hoping the weapons have safe passage into Shropshire.
