National Educational Monument – The Millipede

Your donated golf clubs have officially been turned into one of our latest and greatest sculptures: The Millipede!

Golf Club Millipede

Crafted from thousands upon thousands of your donated golf clubs, this sculpture is here to educate young people and adults alike of the importance of protecting insects and our eco system.

Millipedes are essential for a healthy garden.

If you can find millipedes in your outdoor space it is most likely a sign that your garden is biodiverse and thriving. There are over fifty species of millipedes living in Great Britain (and thirteen thousand in the world), each having different appearances and characteristics.

Millipedes feed primarily on decaying plant material and organic matter, meaning that they help to recycle nutrients and act as decomposers.

It is our hope that this unique and eye-catching sculpture will get people talking about insects and the vital role they play in our outdoor spaces!
