Our Artisans

In The Little Village

Here at the British Ironwork Centre, we are extremely blessed by the extraordinary volume of patrons and members who visit us on a daily basis. Through our social conscience, we have always tried to operate alongside the community and to give back to the community wherever we can. This is why we want to use our assets to help create a launchpad for artisans and creatives.

Our visitors thoroughly enjoy seeing and interacting with artists at work within their studios here, which is why we are now dedicating a number of studio spaces to pop-up artisan workshops. Artisans are invited to utilise one of these unique spaces to launch their artistic business or accelerate their creative journeys.

We want to help celebrate crafts and support creative endeavours in order to give you that step to move forward in your venture.

What Benefits Would I Get from the Space?

These pop-up spaces are ideal for artists who are keen to launch their creative ideas and ventures. Utilising our visitors and public footfall, we can offer high exposure to artisans to showcase and sell their craft and products. This will also give artists a platform to test public reaction to their craft.

Is There a Charge for The Spaces?

These spaces will be provided completely free of charge. They are specifically designed to be a launchpad for your craft and therefore each artist will have their space for a pre-agreed amount of time, after which any further time will be on a review basis. We would ask that all artists are present and working in their spaces during our opening hours as our visitors love to see artisans at work as part of the British Ironworks Centre experience. This will also help artisans to maximise the public footfall coming through our centre. We would also ask that you utilise social media and engage with us through social media to even further maximise your exposure.

Who Can Apply?

We would love to work with artisans from all creative areas! Some examples could be glass blowers, sculptors, taxidermists, jewellery makers, face painters – just get in touch with us if you would like to check if your craft fits. We have even had the pop-up studios used in the past for falconry and reptiles!

How Do I Apply?

If you would be interested in using one of our pop-up studios, please contact us via email at info@britishironworkcentre.co.uk. In your email, please provide a bit of detail about your craft and what you do, where you are based, and if you require any specific facilities (outdoor space, tables etc). Spaces are provided on a first-come-first-serve basis and it would be great to meet you beforehand to discuss your craft further.

“Really interesting displays of artisan goods both inside and out.”

Wendy, Telford

“I took 80 pupils here on a school trip to tie in with our topic ‘Mighty Metals’. The staff were ALL so friendly and polite. The children were able to see artisans at work”

Simon, Stafford
