On average, Brits spend around £170 billion per year on health and fitness. That averages to a whopping £2,491.68 a year each.

The NHS has a yearly budget of roughly £150 billion.

That means that if each UK resident paid their exercise spend to the NHS instead, it could run itself without the Government’s help, freeing up billions of pounds for schools and charities.

People spend a fortune on supplements, protein, and exercise gear that either they don’t need, or never go on to use.

We know that protein powder causes gut issues and sudden spikes in blood sugar. We know that anabolic steroids can cause irreversible heart damage, liver tumours, and stroke.

Would it be fair to say that the money we waste on unhealthy supplements and unwanted gear could be better spent elsewhere?

Think of our NHS next time you splash out on another pair of gym shoes that you don’t need…
