Ironworks Support Harper Adams University ‘Race Day’ Ball

On the 22nd of June, Harper Adams University in Newport will be hosting their annual Summer Ball. Titled ‘Day at the Races’, this year’s theme surrounds everything to do with ‘Race Day’ including a hoard of equestrian themed décor, beautiful suits and dresses, and a whole heap of summertime fun. The ball will see over 2,000 students in attendance, with all proceeds and money raised on the night going to local charities and back into funding the University’s Student Union.

We were completely thrilled when we were approached by a member of the ball’s decorating team, Molly Clark, and asked to help make their ‘Day at the Races’ Ball one to remember! In the past we helped them out by lending them a few iron animal sculptures for their ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ ball which was a real hit with all the attending lecturers and students. We were certainly not ready to horse around so, this year, we offered the University the chance to borrow some of our cast iron horse sculptures which will add a real theatrical touch to the event.

The horse sculptures will be used as the central props for all 10 of the tables at the event where students will be served a special, multiple course meal. Made from cast iron and finished in charming rustic brown, these life-size sculptures are bound to spark some conversation with the attending guests. We look forward to seeing how they look with the rest of the décor and we hope everyone at Harper Adams has a fantastic night!
