Making Tracks in National Coach Tourism
The Ironworks Journey to being Shortlisted for the British Coach Tourism Awards 2019
Recognised nationally as a long-established and greatly-respected awarding body, the British Coach Tourism Awards (BCTA) aim to honour and award those in the industry who are truly exceptional at what they do for coach trips and their visitors across the UK. The awards are as much an honour as they are a representation of what all coach tourism industry professionals should aspire to be – winners represent the industry’s elite and are recognised as setting the bar for true coach tourism excellence. Following a detailed award application, we are extremely proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for not only one, but TWO, of these acclaimed awards. The BCTA have shortlisted us for both the ‘Best Coach Friendly Attraction’ and ‘Best Dining Experience’ awards.
The ‘Best Coach Friendly Attraction’ award aims to recognise visitor attractions, retail shopping areas, garden centres and other attractions across the UK who are committed to welcoming coach groups and who show significant development over the past year. From the moment our coach groups arrive to the moment they leave, our dedicated staff ensure that their visit is full of entertainment, exciting things to see and excellent homemade food. Every coach trip visitor, including the coach driver, is given the true Ironworks VIP experience and we always hope that they enter, explore and leave our site feeling truly special. All feedback is gratefully received and we are on a continual journey to improve our trips and make each visit one to positively remember.
The ‘Best Dining Experience’ award celebrates the best of UK dining options that go the extra mile to cater for large coach groups. Designed specifically for those with excellent menu choices, well-presented meals and a willingness to accommodate all dietary or group needs, we are confident that this award could be ours! Our Forge Café serves some of the very best in homemade food, all handmade from locally sourced British produce. Our dedicated member of staff works alongside the group organiser to ensure that all needs are met and are prepared before arrival. We have special menus for group visits, a discounted cream tea option especially for coach groups, and are even willing to change the menu, in advance, for specially catered trips or events.
Being shortlisted means that we are one step closer to winning these awards and if and when we do, they will be a fantastic testament to all of the hard work spent on ensuring each coach visit is exceptional. We are currently the only Coach Friendly Awarded destination in the area, as awarded by the Confederation of Passenger Transport UK last summer, and we hope to add more accolades to our repertoire with the help of the BCTA.
The official 2019 British Coach Tourism Awards will be taking place on Friday the 8th of February. The awards ceremony will see some of Britain’s finest coach tourism voices enter its doors and we cannot wait to see how we fare against them!
Cheer us on from the side lines and stay tuned for the results!
