The British Ironwork Centre’s National Knife campaign has gained yet another prestigious supporter in the form of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
The Centre was this week visited by the Theatre’s Development Officer, Rachel Cranny, with a view to supporting the Theatre. During the visit, Rachel was fascinated to learn of the “Save a Life, Surrender Your Knife” campaign and agreed without hesitation for the theatre to join and support the anti-knife initiative.
The Theatre has also suggested creating a play and educational programme based on the Knife Campaign and the creation of the Knife angel, as it is in a prime position to reach out to the thousands of students and young people passing through its doors each year.
Clive Knowles, Chairman, said “It’s a great privilege to be able to support such a wonderful arts institution and we are extremely grateful to Rachel for being so willing to support our Knife Crime Campaign. I understand that her team members were wearing our Campaign Wristbands within minutes of her return to the Theatre!”
